Burkina Faso Needs You!

Join us on November 29th for #GivingTuesday!
Your gift will promote literacy and menstural health education for
the girls of Burkina Faso, West Africa. Girl Now, Woman Later strives to end the social stigma and lack of education around menstrual health in this region through educational workshops, distributing feminine health supplies, and providing resources to keep girls in school. Why Burkina Faso?

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL reported in 2019 that 52% of the women in Burkina Faso ages 20-24 were married before age 18. With the 7th highest child marriage rate in the world, less than half of the girls in Burkina Faso complete a basic education.

Why focus on girls?
At least 40% of the population faces poverty. Due to limited resources like running water and feminine products, some girls won’t attend school because of period shaming. Girls also don’t receive enough menstural education.
