As Girl Now Woman Later dedicates itself to improving girls’ education, we are so excited to celebrate International Girls in ICT Day! ICT, or Information and Communications Technology, is one of the most important sectors of innovation in the world. Still, it retains a concerning gender ratio. According to a 2021 global survey done by Trust Radius, 72% of women in technology industries are still outnumbered by their male counterparts. Thus, it’s incredibly important to encourage technology education in young girls, so they can realize that the technology industry is accessible to all genders. In fact, Ada Lovelace, the creator of the first computer algorithm, started off as a young girl interested in math! In the coming years, we hope to see more and more girls creating change through technology.
